These terms cover your use of the BISOFTECH platform at bisoftech.com and your place on any BISOFTECH programme. Please read them before you apply.
Who we are
Buea Institute of Software Technology (BISOFTECH), Malingo Street, Molyko, Buea, Cameroon. You can reach us on +237 658 044 863 or by email.
Applying for a place
Submitting an application does not guarantee a place. We assess each application against the requirements of the programme you have chosen and tell you the outcome through the platform and by email.
The details you give us must be accurate. If a document you upload turns out to be false, we may withdraw an offer or a place at any point.
An offer is for the programme and intake named in it. It does not transfer to another programme or a later intake unless we agree in writing.
Your account
When you are admitted we create an account for you and issue a temporary password. You must change it the first time you sign in, and you must not share your sign-in details with anyone.
Your account is yours alone. Links to live classes are issued to the students on that programme and must not be passed on.
Tell us straight away if you think somebody else has your password.
Fees and payment
Fees for each programme are shown on its page and in your offer. Where a programme is paid in instalments, the amounts and dates are set out in your fee account on the platform.
We issue a receipt for every payment we record. If you have paid and no receipt has appeared, tell the bursary rather than paying again.
[BISOFTECH to confirm: the refund position — whether fees are refundable, within what period, and net of what deductions.]
[BISOFTECH to confirm: any cooling-off period after acceptance.]
Results and certificates
Your marks are entered by your instructors and your final result is released by the academic office once every part has been marked.
Results are not shown to a student whose fees are overdue. Nothing is lost or changed by this — your instructors can still see your marks, and they appear as soon as the payment is recorded.
A result slip printed from the portal is a statement of results. It is not a transcript or a certificate; those are issued by the Director's office.
Your work
You keep ownership of the coursework and projects you produce. By submitting work through the platform you allow us to store it, mark it, and keep it as part of your academic record.
We may ask separately if we would like to show your project publicly, and you are free to say no.
Work you hand in must be your own. Passing off someone else's work as yours may cost you the mark, the module, or your place.
Attendance and conduct
We expect you to attend the sessions on your timetable and to treat staff and other students with respect, in person and in the platform's messaging.
We may suspend or withdraw a place for serious or repeated misconduct. Where we do, we tell you why and record the reason.
Your personal data
We hold the details you give us in order to run your application, your studies, your fee account and your certification. We do not sell them.
You can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to correct it.
[BISOFTECH to confirm: how long records are kept after a student leaves.]
Changes to a programme
We sometimes have to move a class, change an instructor, or adjust the outline of a programme. Where a change is significant we tell the students affected through the platform.
If we have to cancel a programme before it starts, we will say so and discuss the options with everyone who holds a place.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page is the one that applies, and the date it was last changed is shown at the bottom.
Getting in touch
If something here is unclear, or you disagree with a decision, speak to the admissions office first. We would rather sort it out directly.
[BISOFTECH to confirm: the governing law and the courts that would settle a dispute.]
